Changing ʻĀina

Waterfall in Hawaii

Unit Description

In this unit, your students will investigate the many things than can change the shape of the land. Students will begin by observing how changes can happen very quickly or very slowly. They will explore how lava, water, and wind change the land in different ways, breaking down larger objects into smaller objects (for wind and waves), or building up smaller objects to create new sections of land (lava).
